Technical Requirements Checklist
Please run the following checklist items to ensure your child can access BrightFish Reading
Step 1: Make sure you are running the latest version of your browser. We support the following browsers:
Chrome (72+/latest) – recommended browser
Internet Explorer 11+, Edge
Safari 12+
FireFox 65+
Other requirements: JavaScript and Cookies ARE required. Flash IS NOT required. Java IS NOT required. Minimum resolution for your computer screen is 1024 x 768.

Step 2: Test your website speed. Your download speed should be at least 15 Mbps for optimal performance.
Step 3: Test your system latency. The strength of the connection from your network to the BrightFish servers can affect performance. Latency values above 80 ms can cause freezing or slow response times.
Visit https://www.cloudping.info. Click “HTTP Ping” and record the latency shown for US-East Virginia.
Step 4: Ensure you computer can access multimedia files. Can you play the video below? Your firewall or computer must be able to access https://*.vimeo.com and/or https://*.brightfishreading.com for this to work.
Step 5: Can you hear the following sound? Your firewall or computer must be able to access https://*.brightfishlearning.com for this to work.
Step 6: Can you see the Google Charts in the link below? Your firewall or computer must be able to access google.com/jsapi/* for this to work.
